Last year, Katy Perry opened the MTV Movie Awards gala with the song We Will Rock You by Queen. However, what she will remember most about that evening is how she met the event host, English comic Russell Brand.
The two embarked on a whirlwind romance which led to Brand popping the question in India on New Year’s Day. Now the two lovebirds are planning an intimate wedding and a fabulous reception for the end of the year.
On Sunday, June 6, the singer will return to the scene of the crime. She will perform California Gurls, a new single which is moving steadily up the charts. The song is from her new album, Teenage Dream, being released on August 30.
Besides Katy Perry, pop superstar Christina Aguilera will take to the stage at the awards show. She will perform her new song, Not Myself Tonight, off her new album Bionic that drops June 4, two days before the MTV Movie Awards.
