Keane eyes collaboration with Kanye

The British band thinks the American rapper is a "musical genius."

Keane is working on a fourth studio album, a follow up to 2008’s Perfect Symmetry. Frontman and lead singer Tom Chaplin recently revealed the band wants to collaborate with Kanye West on a track for the new album.

He said: "Kanye’s a big fan of Keane and he really loved Perfect Symmetry. Apparently he had this strange obsession with Spiralling! I don’t know whether that’s b*****ks or not but we got wind from his manager that he’d put it on 70 times in a row."

Chaplin talked about how the band met the hip-hop star two years ago in a Paris recording studio. Keane was there working on its third studio album, Perfect Symmetry. He could not say enough nice things about West.

He gushed: "We did spend a weird and wonderful night with him in a studio in Paris. I hope we get the chance to do some more stuff with him because he’s a magnetic person – a real force. He’s a musical genius."
