Kellan Lutz models and designs for denim label

Twilight actor signs on with L.A.-based Dylan George brand.

Twilight star Kellan Lutz has been chosen as the new face (and body) of Los Angeles-based denim label Dylan George – and he will also be doing some design work for the company, reports Coco Perez.

Partnering with brand founder Daniel Guez, Lutz will be helping to design a range of men’s t-shirts, pants, and cashmere knits under Abbot & Main, a new Dylan George sub-label.

"How cool will that be to create my own line? I grew up wanting to be an inventor. I went to school for chemical engineering. I love to create. I’ve always wanted to get into fashion. I’ve always liked drawing, not Space Age stuff but high fashion," enthused Lutz in an interview with WWD.

Lutz, best known for his role as Emmett Cullen in the Twilight movie franchise, last modeled for the 2010 Calvin Klein X underwear campaign, and will now also pose for the upcoming fall ad campaign from Dylan George.

The actor says that his favorite item from the new collection is a pair of charcoal grey straight-leg jeans. "I like the ones that can be dress pants … I like fitting in and not drawing attention."

"In L.A., you’re always being judged by what you wear. I pretty much knew L.A. was the denim capital of the world. Some of the trends I tried, I didn’t like. They were super-tight. People said, ‘You’re important; you have to look a certain way in $300 and $400 jeans.’ This was when I learned that I need to dress comfortably."
