Ketchup Gets Recycled

Ketchup producers are being asked to do their part in recycling.

According to La Presse, ketchup makers have been asked to recycle.

Tomato pulp, which is usually thrown away, could be reused in the ketchup making process. It could perfectly replace the artificial thickening agent currently used.

The University of Shiraz in Iran has conducted tests that were proven conclusive. In Iran,  150 000 tons of tomato pulp are wasted per year, and the country is not even the biggest ketchup consumer.
