Kiefer Sutherland scammed

Kiefer Sutherland was the victim of a scam that caused him to lose hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Daily News reports actor Kiefer Sutherland, who plays Jack Bauer on 24, was the victim of a costly scam.

The actor and others invested money in livestock but instead were victims of fraud worth more than a million dollars.

According to prosecutors, cattle dealer Michael Carr of Linden, California, was supposed to buy cattle from Mexico and sell it at a profit in the U.S.

Sutherland never personally met the swindler but still trusted him enough to fork over $869,00. A New Mexico couple invested $177,000.

The prosecutor’s office says there is no proof Carr ever bought any cattle and it appears he also sold cattle that did not belong to him.

Carr is being charged with 12 felonies and will go before a judge to be arraigned on February 8. He faces up to 18 years in prison.
