According to Contactmusic, Alec Baldwin, the ex-husband of the actress, has formally accused Basinger of not respecting his legal visitation rights for their daughter. In 2004, the two stars agreed to share custody of Ireland, 10, after divorcing four years earlier.
Baldwin, 48, has accused Basinger, 52, of not allowing him to see his daughter. He adds that his ex-wife didn’t even notify him when their daughter was injured and needed medical treatment in 2005.
The blonde actress pleaded not guilty with the help of her attorney, Neil Hersh, in Los Angeles. If she is found guilty, the LA Confidential star could face two months in prison and a fine of up to $12,000.
The court date is set for January 15, 2007. Vicki Greene, an attorney representing Alec Baldwin, thinks that her client will be an important witness in the trial.
