Kings of Leon announces American tour dates

Band will perform throughout the U.S. this summer.

American rock band Kings of Leon have announced the details of their upcoming U.S. tour this summer, reports Billboard.

With indie rockers Band of Horses as their opening act, the group is going on tour to promote their fifth studio album, Come Around Sundown, a follow-up to their 2008 breakout album, Only by the Night.

The 29-date tour kicks off July 25 in Atlanta and will take the musicians all over the U.S. before wrapping up on September 12 in Seattle.

First the band is off to Ireland for a May 28 show that marks the beginning of their European tour, including a performance at the Isle of Wight Festival on June 10.

Kings of Leon had originally scheduled an Australian tour for March but was forced to cancel after drummer Nathan Followill underwent surgery for a torn right labrum and bicep. Followill was back in drumming condition in time for the band to make an appearance at the Coachella music festival on April 15.
