Kings of Leon are ready to rock

The band is getting ready to release their next studio album.

The Kings of Leon’s label, RCA, announced the band’s fifth studio album will be released on October 19. This will be a follow-up to the Grammy-nominated and internationally acclaimed Only By the Night that came out in 2008.

The Nashville-based quartet has been playing new material from the new album at recent shows, much to the chagrin of the record label. Kings of Leon frontman Caleb Followill admitted a while back that the band would "play the whole of our new album live if it was up to us."

Followill also discussed the sound of the new album during a teleconference about the band’s summer tour. He revealed: "… We have fiddle on this album and we have lap steel on this album, trumpet, and all kinds of stuff. We are really trying to make these songs live up to what it is that we want them to be, so there are a lot of elements that you may have never heard on Kings of Leon."

In the meantime, the Kings of Leon are headlining the V Festival in the UK on August 21-22 and continuing to play shows around the States throughout August and September.
