KISS joins Michael Jackson Tribute

Fans upset by Gene Simmons’s comments about MJ as pedophile.

Legendary rockers KISS will pay tribute to Michael Jackson in an October concert that will also feature Christina Aguilera, Leona Lewis, Smokey Robinson, and Cee Lo Green, reports the Guardian.

"I know [Michael] would be very excited about Kiss," Jackson’s mother, Katherine, told CNN on Monday (August 15). But the singer’s fans are upset and making their feelings known on Michael Forever’s Facebook page, with one fan saying, "it’s like spitting on his grave!"

Last year in an interview with Classic Rock magazine, KISS bassist and vocalist Gene Simmons said he believed that the pop star was a pedophile.

"Where there’s smoke there’s fire," Simmons said. "There’s no question in my mind [Michael] molested those kids. Not a doubt." The musician stated he "knew Michael", and "as time moved on, and no matter what my fond memories and fond images of Michael were, with one allegation of pedophilia after another and another and another – oh dear …"

Other major artists are expected to be announced for Michael Forever: The Tribute Concert in Cardiff, Wales on October 8.

Katherine Jackson, matriarch of the musical family, appeared on CNN Monday to discuss the show, which will also include performances by her children and grandchildren.
