Typically museums are associated with creative forms like art and sculpture, but for the more curious among us, Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Odditorium fills the bill.
The museum, which specializes in the strange and unusual, just opened its 32nd location in the Jungmun Tourist Complex at Seogwipo city.
The new opening demonstrates the popularity of this unusual institution, which deals in bizarre events and items so strange and unusual that visitors might question the claims.
Resembling a giant robot and constructed of eco-friendly materials, the Odditorium is host to a sculpture park, a secret garden and 12 themed galleries containing more than 600 exhibits ranging from non-traditional works of art to bizarre artefacts, such as a prehistoric Mastodon skeleton and three Jivaro Indian shrunken heads.
The new facility also showcases 32 wax figures, a meteorite from Mars, and a life-size model of a space capsule.
