Lady Gaga is not a ”reductive Madonna copy”.
The ‘Applause’ singer doesn’t care if people accusing her of imitating the elder star – sparked by her 2011 single ‘Born This Way’ bearing similarities to Madonna’s ‘Express Yourself’ – because she feels her work stands apart.
She tweeted: ”LADY GAGA IS A REDUCTIVE MADONNA COPY! SHE’S OVER NOW! #WriteWhatUWant #SayWhatUWantBoutMe #ImNotSorry”.
She then added a link to a 2012 interview in which Madonna described her songs as ”reductive”, adding: ”MADONNA HATES GAGA SHE’S OVER. I don’t need anybody’s permission to be remembered. I will be. Whether they like it or not.”
Gaga, 27, also addressed her past issues with drugs and fluctuating weight in a similar manner.
She added: ”LADY GAGA IS ON DRUGS. HER CAREER IS OVER! (Been an addict for 10 years) #WriteWhatUWant. My recovery is a daily battle.”
She also tweeted a picture of her curvier figure accompanied by the ”#DoWhatUWantWithMyBody”.
Gaga also she didn’t care the first single from her ‘ARTPOP’ album didn’t reach Number One, adding: ”I write for the music, not the charts.”
Gaga’s latest track, ‘Do What U Want’ featuring R. Kelly was released today (21.10.13).
