Last night (June 19), at the MuchMusic Video Awards in Toronto, Canada, Lady Gaga opened the show with her usual theatrical flair, exiting from her ‘cocoon’ and metamorphosizing into her pop star persona with a blazing rendition of her latest hit Edge of Glory, reports the Daily Mail.

The singer played to the crowd, saying, “You guys may not know this, but I love everything about Canada,” as she took home two awards: most popular international artist in the fan category, and best international video for Judas.

Seventeen-year-old Justin Bieber was the other big winner, joining his girlfriend, host Selena Gomez, onstage to accept his awards for fan-voted favorite artist, and best international Canadian video, which he share with hip-hop star Drake.

At one point Bieber joked with Gomez, “You’re very beautiful. Maybe we could go out sometime?”

R&B star Taio Cruz won for most-watched video and most-streamed video for his smash hit Dynamite. Gaga closed the show with a performance of her hit song Born This Way.
