Pop star Lady Gaga has rewarded her fans with the full lyrics to her upcoming single, Born This Way, after they managed to quickly push #bornthiswaylyrics to the number one spot on Twitter’s trending topics, reports MTV.
Earlier today (January 28), Gaga issued the Twitter challenge to her fans: "Are you ready for the full lyrics?! Can we trend #bornthiswaylyrics!? It has been in my heart for over a year. I’m so excited to share it."
With almost 8 million followers to do her bidding, it only took about 20 minutes for the hash-tag phrase to become the most mentioned word on the entire microblogging service, or the top trending topic in Twitter-speak.
"It’s #1 worldwide! That was fast! You’re so radical! Here you Monsters, this one’s for you," wrote Gaga.
Born This Way is poised to be the first official single off of Gaga’s upcoming album of the same name. The title track drops on February 13, the same day Gaga will perform at the Grammys, with the full album expected to hit store shelves in May.
