Lady Gaga to become a Queen?

Pop star in talks with rock band Queen to become new lead singer.

Pop star Lady Gaga is in talks to become the new lead singer for the classic rock band Queen, reports the Daily Express.

The band has managed to persevere despite the tragic death of their original frontman Freddie Mercury in 1991, but his replacement, Paul Rodgers, left the group in 2009, leaving a gap which the group now hopes may be filled by the flamboyant pop star.

"We talk about going out on the road all the time but there’s a bit of a singer problem to put it mildly," explained guitarist Brian May. "We get a lot of offers to work with other people. I worked with Lady Gaga and she’s very creative and is someone we’ve talked about singing, fronting the band with. She’s not just a singer, she writes her own material."

The epic rock band first formed in London in 1971 and has been responsible for such major hits as We Will Rock You, We Are the Champions and Bohemian Rhapsody.

Currently, the group is working on two major film projects, one a biopic about Mercury and the other a film version of their musical We Will Rock You. "There seems to be endless stuff to do. We are very fortunate – it’s amazing to be so busy after 40 years," said May.
