Lady Gaga upset Thai Culture Ministry

Lady Gaga has been criticised by Thailand’s Culture Ministry for "inappropriate" use of the country’s flag during her performance there last month.

Lady Gaga has been criticised by authorities in Thailand over her performance there last month.

The ‘Bad Romance’ singer has upset the Culture Ministry with what they described as the "inappropriate" use of their country’s flag during her concert in Bangkok.

During the performance, Gaga wore a traditional Thai headdress and a bikini and sat on a motorcycle with a Thai flag tied to it.

The ministry said the act was "not appropriate and hurt the feelings of the Thai people".

The ministry’s Permanent Secretary Somchai Seanglai confirmed the agency have given police a summary of public complaints they received but they do not intend to seek legal action against the singer.

This isn’t the first time Gaga’s ‘Born This Way Ball’ tour has caused controversy in Asia.

She recently cancelled a gig in Jakarta, Indonesia after receiving death threats from hardline extremists, who complained her sexy clothes and dance routines would corrupt young people.

Islamic Defenders Front called Gaga a "messenger of the devil" and vowed to turn out at the airport by the thousands if she tried to step off the plane.

Gaga later said she was "devastated" by the decision to pull the plug on the show.

She tweeted: "There is nothing Holy about hatred. We had to cancel the concert in Indonesia. I’m so very sorry to the fans & just as devastated as you if not more.(sic)"
