Lady Gaga’s Judas music video debuts next week

New video to premiere on next week’s American Idol TV show.

Pop star Lady Gaga will premiere the music video for her newest single, Judas, on American Idol during the week of May 2, reports Idolator.

The controversial music video was directed by Gaga herself, with help from her creative director Laurieann Gibson.

"It’s a phenomenal video: really powerful, really impactful," Gibson told MTV. "She’s such a strong, committed artist. Her loyalty to me is something I will be forever grateful for. We’re spiritually connected. We need each other… and Judas is ultimately a representation of our true bond."

The video, which stars Gaga as Mary Magdalene and Norman Reedus as Judas, is already causing controversy.

"I think that most people are already thinking that Gaga and the blasphemy and they’re premeditating the approach," noted Gibson. "I think they’ll be very shocked to find out how huge and really groundbreaking the message is and how freeing the message is for all the right reasons. And it’s really going to shock the world."

Gaga will also perform the song live on The Ellen DeGeneres Show this Thursday (April 28), to help get fans geared up for the May 23 release of her new album, Born This Way.
