According to People magazine, Lance Bass was a good friend to Britney, but that time has come to an end.
Bass was interviewed by GQ magazine in their November issue. When asked if he still maintained contact with Spears, he replied, "I tried. I tried. She’s my neighbor in Beverly Hills. She lives next door. I tried to get in touch with her – I wanted to be that friend to help her. I don’t think she’s having any of her old friends anymore."
The former member of N Sync stated that he stopped talking to the singer after she married Jason Allen Alexander in Las Vegas in January 2004. During this event Bass had disclosed some personal information to Spears.
He explained, "I felt bad for her. I knew she was about to go through a lot of crap. I felt the need to share something. So I sat her on my bed, and I’m like, Well, I’m gay!"
Bass revealed his sexual orientation publicly two and a half years later in July 2006.
