Lauren Conrad dabbles in make-up

Reality TV star expands brand empire to include beauty products.

Since leaving reality TV behind, Lauren Conrad, 25, continues to expand her fashion and beauty brand, reports Coco Perez.

The American celebutante, fashion designer, and author first came to prominence in her starring roles on the MTV reality series Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County and its spin-off series, The Hills, which at one point followed her personal and professional life as she pursued a career in the fashion industry.

In her lifestyle blog on Forbes.com, the California beauty has been discussing the business side of her various projects and what she has learned along the way.

“Right now, one of my main objectives is to expand TheBeautyDepartment.com into a product line. I am currently researching all of my options, but should begin the process of executing an actual line very soon – stay tuned.

"I’m also focusing on expanding my other existing brands…On top of that, I’ll be working on completing my fifth book, The Fame Game.”

She talked about her experiences as a young entrepreneur as well.

“By learning from failed opportunities, I’ve transformed past mistakes into flourishing brands and businesses. As basic as it may sound, learning from your mistakes is a vital part of becoming a successful entrepreneur.”

The busy Conrad has written a book on style, as well as three books in her L.A. Candy trilogy with a spin-off trilogy in the works, has two fashion lines; LC by Lauren Conrad and Paper Crown. She, her hairstylist, and her makeup artist run a beauty website, The Beauty Department.
