Lauryn Hill to perform in Toronto and Montreal

Former Fugees member makes rare Canadian appearance.

Lauryn Hill will make a rare Canadian appearance when she performs live in Toronto and Montreal next month.

On sale through Ticketmaster, tickets for the Toronto show on January 22 are currently and Montreal tickets for the January 23 show go on sale today (December 22) at noon.

Although she has made a few public appearances in recent years and is said to have recorded periodically, Hill has yet to release a follow-up studio album to her 1998 debut, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, save for a 2002 live album, MTV Unplugged 2.0.

Her debut album was a critical and commercial success, turning Hill into a household name. At the 1999 Grammy Awards, Hill set the record for most wins by a female artist when she took home five wins from her 11 nominations.

Hill, 35, has since mostly retired from public view, quietly raising the five children she has with husband Rohan Marley, son of reggae legend Bob Marley.

Rumours of a potential second album have circulated since 2004, but have yet to culminate in a new release.
