Lawsuit Filed Against Stone Temple Pilots

Atlantic Records is accusing two Stone Temple Pilots members of trying to shorten their contract with the company.

According to Billboard.com, Atlantic Records filed suit yesterday (June 12) against singer Scott Weiland and drummer Eric Kretz, two members from Stone Temple Pilots (STP), on accusations of prematurely ending the contract they signed.

Although the group has delivered six albums for the label, Atlantic still wants to release a seventh one with the group and maybe even more. The two band members have refused to perform unless the record house does not make some significant changes.

According to Atlantic Records, the contract was signed under New York State laws, however, STP has referred to Californian laws to support their actions.

Although the band split in 2002, the Stone Temple Pilots announced that they will reunite for a North American tour this summer.
