Leona Lewis’s Attacker Flakes Out in Court

The trial for Leona Lewis’s attacker has once again been postponed.

The man accused of attacking the singer during her book signing session last month was a no-show in court yesterday (November 23), because he was deemed unfit to see the judge.

Peter Kowalczyk was arrested after allegedly striking the star on the side of her head during a promotional event held in London. He was then placed under supervision under the Mental Health Act. Accused of assault, he did not attend court for his first trial set for October 26 because he was deemed inept.

The same scenario played out yesterday, when the 29-year-old man was still considered inept to attend his trial. Since he was not present nor represented at the Westminster Magistrates Court, the trial was pushed back until December 14.

The singer had to cancel several scheduled promotional events following the incident, but she recently spoke of wanting to put the whole ordeal behind her. She stated, "It could have been worse. I’m still alive, it’s just something you have to deal with when you have fame and the positives far outweigh the negatives. I don’t like to dwell on the negatives, I’m a very positive person."
