Leonard Cohen out of commission for six months

A back injury forces Leonard Cohen to stop his tour.

75-year old singer Leonard Cohen had to cancel his tour mid-way to recuperate from a lower back injury. He got injured while exercising.

Cohen, who received a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Grammys on January 31, was ordered by his doctor to take a break. The singer was on a 191-concert tour around the world. Last September, he fainted while on a stage in Spain.

This break may give Cohen a chance to work on a new album. He has been introducing new songs to fans during recent shows.

According to his doctor, Leonard Cohen will be ready to resume his tour in the summer. His team thinks it would be better to wait until the fall, to give the Montrealer as much time possible to make a full recovery.
