Leonard Nimoy Gets Emotional

Star Trek‘s original Dr. Spock, Leonard Nimoy, admitted that shooting the latest film was an emotional experience.

Nimoy, who played Dr. Spock for decades, told TV Guide how filming the latest movie was difficult for him.

The 78-year-old actor said that scenes filmed under director J.J. Abrams constantly reminded him of his former co-star companions from the series and the good memories attached.

Nimoy admitted being touched watching Karl Urban, who played the character Dr. McCoy, and who made him think of his good friend DeForest Kelley, who died in 1999. "I started crying – and it still moves me now. I loved D-Kelley, salt of the earth. I cried a lot watching this production," the actor confessed.
