Leonardo DiCaprio Dominates Nominations

Leonardo DiCaprio has been nominated three times by the Screen Actors Guild Awards for his performances in the films Blood Diamond and The Departed.

The actor was nominated for best actor in Blood Diamond and best supporting actor in The Departed. 

In the category of best actor, DiCaprio will compete with Ryan Gosling (Half Nelson), Peter O’Toole (Venus), Will Smith (The Pursuit of Happyness) and Forest Whitaker (The Last King of Scotland).

In the best actress category are Penelope Cruz (Volver) Judi Dench (Notes on a Scandal), Helen Mirren (The Queen), Meryl Streep (The Devil Wears Prada) and Kate Winslet (Little Children).

Babel, Bobby, Dreamgirls and Little Miss Sunshine have all been nominated in the best cast category.

The category for best supporting actor includes Alan Arkin (Sunshine), Jackie Earle Haley (Little Children), Djimon Hounsou (Blood Diamond) and Eddie Murphy (Dreamgirls).

The Screen Actor Guild Awards also recognise excellence in television.  The winners will be announced on January 28.  Julie Andrews will be honoured for her career.
