Leonardo DiCaprio is in talks to play Hoover

Leonardo DiCaprio could be working with Clint Eastwood in Hoover.

Leonardo DiCaprio is in talks to play the title role in Clint Eastwood’s next film, Hoover.

According to Deadline New York, DiCaprio will play FBI founder J. Edgar Hoover in a film developed by Ron Howard and written by Dustin Lance Black (Milk).

Last year, Billy Crudup played the role of Hoover in the film Public Enemies that also starred Johnny Depp and Christian Bale.

J. Edgar Hoover was a prominent figure in 20th century American history. In 1935, he founded the FBI, which he headed until his death in 1972. He was a very controversial figure because he concealed evidence, used illegal methods to obtain information and kept secret files on prominent politicians. According to many, Hoover was also a transvestite.

Shooting begins in the fall.

In the meantime, Leonardo DiCaprio can still be seen on the big screen in Shutter Island. He is also starring with Marion Cotillard and Ellen Page in Inception opening on July 16.
