Arising from the ashes of the tumultuous breakup of Oasis last year, new group Beady Eye, with Liam Gallagher as lead singer, is preparing to launch their debut album, Different Gear, Still Speeding.
Gallagher, who managed to recruit other Oasis musicians for the venture, announced that the album contained 13 songs produced by Steve Lillywhite, known for his work on U2’s October and War albums in the early 1980s, and more recently Evanescence.
The first single, Bring the Light, was released as a free download on November 9, and within the first 24 hours, had been downloaded more than 350,000 times.
Interest in Beady Eye is so high that it only took 30 minutes for the group to sell out its first European tour, announced for 2011.
Beady Eye’s Different Gear, Still Speeding will be in stores February 28, 2011 and will contain the following tracks:
