Liam Hemsworth is comforting Miley Cyrus after her parents’ split.
The Australian actor, 23, stepped out with his on/off fiancée for the first time in five months on Monday night (06.17.13) and protectively escorted her to the Arclight cinema in Hollywood.
The ‘We Can’t Stop’ singer, who was wearing minimal makeup and dressed casually for the occasion in ripped blue jeans and a grey cardigan, reportedly clung to the ‘Hunger Games’ star’s arm as they made their way inside, according to the MailOnline website.
The low-key date is the first time the couple have been seen together since their trip to Costa Rica with Liam’s older brother, Chris Hemsworth, and his wife, Elsa Pataky, in February.
Their public outing came just one day after Miley tried to get in touch with her father, Billy Ray Cyrus, via Twitter for Father’s Day on Sunday (16.05.13), after previously revealing she was unable to contact him after her mother, Tish Cyrus, filed for divorce from him last week.
She wrote: "@BillyRayCyrus since your text and email obviously aren’t working would you like to talk like this?"
Tish is seeking full physical and legal custody of their 13-year-old daughter Noah and has cited "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the end of their 19-year marriage.
Miley has recently indicated that her issues with Liam have been resolved and their engagement is back on, following reports he cheated on her with January Jones earlier this year and was upset about her dramatic makeover.
She told the July issue of Rolling Stone magazine: "I wear a (engagement) ring every single day. I don’t talk about my personal life, so that’s enough of an answer."
