Lil Wayne and Drake to team up on new LP

Cash Money duo plan collaborative album.

Following the lead of rappers Jay-Z and Kanye West – who launched their highly-anticipated collaborative album, Watch the Throne, earlier this month – Lil Wayne and Drake are apparently planning a joint LP of their own, reports XXL.

"Wayne and I recently talked about [the joint album]. That’s definitely going to get done," revealed Cash Money Records founder Bryan "Baby” Williams.

"What [Jay-Z and West are] doing is great,” he added. “I think it’s great for the game, great for the business, great for retail as a whole. I just think when Wayne and Drake get together is going to be something real special also because we more youthful."

The release date and title have yet to be announced for the Lil Wayne-Drake album, but will likely follow their respective solo releases: Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter IV is due to drop on August 29, while Drake is preparing to release his LP Take Care on October 24.
