Lil’ Wayne does a year behind bars and still releases a record

A DJ lays a  rapper’s lyrics over songs from the movie (500) Days of Summer.

If you really miss rapper Lil ‘Wayne while he serves his one-year prison sentence for illegal possession of a firearm, you now have the chance to soothe your loneliness with a surprising album that, moreover, is available for free download.

The disc (500) Days of Weezy, which refers to Lil’ Wayne’s nickname, contains several tracks from the soundtrack of the movie (500) Days of Summer, which includes songs by Hall and Oates, The Smiths and Simon & Garfunkel overlaid with Lil’ Wayne  rhymes.

It’s a stroke of genius by My Sick Uncle , a DJ who melded the talented rapper’s lyrics with this soundtrack that didn’t include much music that one would easily associate with Lil’ Wayne’s style, much as it pleased moviegoers last year.

The record is available for download from 500daysofweezy.com.
