Lily Allen hospitalized

Lily Allen hospitalized after a miscarriage.

Several days after suffering a miscarriage while six months pregnant, Lily Allen was rushed to the hospital on Friday (November 5) where she was diagnosed with septicemia, a potentially lethal blood poisoning condition, reports usmagazine.com.

"She is responding well to treatment and her condition continues to improve," a rep for Allen, 25, told the U.K.’s Daily Mail. "Lily thanks everyone for their messages of support and again asks that she and partner Sam Cooper be left alone whilst she recovers."

A blood infection can lead to septic shock if not treated quickly. Three years ago, Allen also suffered a miscarriage during her relationship with musician Ed Simons.

This year, Allen had talked about her wish to start a family with Cooper, revealing that she hoped to conceive within a year. She added that she wanted to be 100 per cent present for her child during the first two or three years of life.

Allen has said having children is "ultimately my main goal" in life.
