Lindsay was being interviewed by Letterman to promote her new film Georgia Rule. Letterman asked the actress about rumours that she is often late to work, and also about Paris Hilton’s recently announced jail sentence. Lohan said that Hilton’s sentence was terrible, but did not expand.
Lohan commented on the problems that she had while on the set of Georgia Rule. "I was out too late a few of the times. I had a boyfriend. I was fighting with him," she told Letterman. "I was very immature. I was very irresponsible. And I understand that."
In September of 2006, Lohan’s co-star in the film, Jane Fonda, told Access Hollywood, "It’s hard after a while to party very hard and work very hard. She’ll learn that."
Fonda then added, "She’s so alone out there in the world in terms of structure and people to nurture her. She is so talented. Oh my gosh, she can access emotion like nothing… And she just makes me cry. I just want to take her in my arms and hold her until she’s grown up."
