Liz Phair Changes Record Labels

Liz Phair is changing record companies and taking this opportunity to re-release her album Exile in Guyville.

Liz Phair, the independent artist who charmed critics in 1993 when she first released her album Exile in Guyville, a work inspired by Rolling Stones album Exile in Main Street, signed with ATO.  Phair will be re-releasing her album along with four unedited songs and a DVD documentary based on the creation of the legendary album.

The documentary entitled Guyville Redux contains footage of interviews with producer Steve Albini, radio personality Ira Glass, and actor John Cusack.

The singer’s career was headed in the direction of pop music when she signed with Capitol in 2003, and this caused the artist to lose fans who adored her off-beat, original style.
