Lollapalooza headliners revealed

Lollapalooza 2010 will feature six headlining acts.

Lollapalooza is a three day, eight stage music festival happening August 6-8 in Chicago’s Grant Park.

This year, festival headliners include Lady Gaga, Green Day, The Strokes, Arcade Fire, Soundgarden and Phoenix.

These artists are also expected to perform this summer: Bright Eyes, Dirty Projectors, Hot Chip, The xx and Yeasayer, as well as The Flaming Lips, The National, Public Enemy, Against Me!, The Hold Steady and The New Pornographers.

A complete festival line up is normally released in April.

The 2009 festival welcomed some pretty big names including Depeche Mode, Beastie Boys, The Killers and Kings of Leon.

All in all, more than 100 bands and artists will take to one of the eight stages during the event.

Lollapalooza was created in 1991 by Jane’s Addiction singer Perry Farrell as a farewell tour for his band. It toured North America for several years before finally settling down as a weekend festival in Chicago.
