London home to Europe’s worst hotels

Travel website users vote London hotels as the worst.

You may be reluctant to choose London as a travel destination after reading the results of a travel website survey by Trivago. After looking at more than 28 million online reviews, hotels in England’s capital were considered the worst, reports the Daily Mail.

More than 1,000 European cities were evaluated, and London received one of the worst scores: 72.2 out of 100 points. The only cities that scored worse were Sliema in Malta (71), and Lloret de Mar (69.57) and El Arenal (66.78) in Spain.

Room rates and hotel quality greatly affected the results, with the survey highlighting the high cost of living in London. Another large U.K. city, Birmingham, also received one of the lowest ratings, with 74.15 out of 100.

However, other popular tourist towns were also found at the bottom of the list, including Amsterdam (74.42) and Copenhagen (74.29), and Paris (74.58).

According to the website, the top cities with the best hotels are Dresden, Germany, with 82.32 points, Krakow, Poland, with 81.09 points and Bruges, Belgium, with 81.03 points out of 100.
