Longchamp offers new designs for men

French leather designer releases new La Postale line of bags for men.

Leathergoods manufacturer Longchamp has announced a new collection for men, reports FashionMag. The La Postale collection is refined and sober, with sleek, straight lines.

Named in honour of airplane pilots, the collection includes handbags and belts, available in designs of dark canvas and calfskin leather or entirely in glossy brown leather.

La Postale is available through Longchamp stores and retailers. With the opening of close to two dozen stores this year, Longchamp has nearly 250 boutiques worldwide.

Founded in France in 1948 by Jean Cassegrain, the son of a tobacconist, Longchamp began with designs for leather pipe coverings and other accessories for smokers, and had started offering other small leather items by 1955. It wasn’t until 1993 that the designs became available in the North American market.

British model Kate Moss and artist Tracey Emin have both previously designed collections for the brand. Moss has gone on to model for the French company. She has also designed clothing for British chain Topshop, and released four fragrances through Coty.
