Lou Reed and Metallica album streaming in full

All 10 Lulu tracks can be heard online.

In a little over a week, Lulu, the collaborative album between New York City singer-songwriter Lou Reed and California heavy metal band Metallica is due to hit shelves.

The album joining the metalheads with the founder of the Velvet Underground will be available on November 1. The set of extended songs are inspired by German expressionist Frank Wedekind’s early 20th century plays Earth Spirit and Pandora’s Box originally published in 1904 and set in Germany, Paris and London in the 1890s.

The plays “whirl between the points of view of Lulu, an inverted-Eve-like cipher-mirror of desire and abuse, and the people who fall desperately in love with her. Then she meets Jack The Ripper…,” according to their website lourreedmetallica.com.

Currently, you can hear the album in full on the website. Three Lulu compositions are more than 10 minutes long, with Junior Dad, running almost 20 minutes.
