Ludacris set to open chicken eatery in Atlanta airport in 2013

(Relaxnews) – Rapper/ actor Ludacris has announced that his Chicken and Beer restaurant will be landing at Atlanta airport next year.

After taking to Twitter earlier this year to announce his next project, the entertainer put a date to his eatery’s arrival on the same microblogging site this week, saying that the restaurant — named after one of his most successful albums — Chicken-N-Beer released in 2003 — will open in concourse D at the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport next in 2013.

It’s not the first time a rapper has decided to parlay his fame into a chicken joint. After a brief, unsuccessful stint in eastern Iowa, rapper and reality TV celebrity Flavor Flav opened a deep-fried chicken joint in Las Vegas earlier this year called House of Flavor.

And while the main link between Ludacris and his future restaurant is an aptly named album, Flavor Flav had graduated from culinary school and worked as a head cook before finding fame in the entertainment industry.

Lucadris is likewise no stranger to the restaurant business as he opened an Asian fusion restaurant Straits in Atlanta, inspired by Singaporean cuisine. The rapper said he plans to close the restaurant in order to focus on his upcoming airport venture.

He also co-owns Conjure Cognac and Soul headphones.
