Producer Jeffery Katzenberg revealed that DreamWorks Studios is already talking about a third Madagascar.
Once Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa, hits the theatres later this year, a third film may start rolling about the funny animal characters Alex, Melman, Marty, Gloria and their friends, who are back in New York City.
In the first film, the whole gang found themselves on the island of Madagascar, after escaping from Central Park’s zoo.
In addition, there have also been discussions about the follow-up to the animated film, Kung Fu Panda. The official announcement could be made within two months.
This summer, Kung Fu Panda earned more than $560 million worldwide. In 1995, the first Madagascar brought in $530 million.
Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa hits the big screen on November 7.
