Madame Tussauds goes Gaga

Poker Face hitmaker immortalized by famous wax museum.

To prevent fans from getting too close, Lady Gaga is surrounded by a phalanx of bodyguards at every public appearance, but soon you’ll be able to get lots of up close and personal with the American pop star by visiting her wax lookalike.

Famous London wax museum, Madame Tussauds, has announced it’s spent almost $2 million creating eight Lady Gagas, each sporting a different outfit, for worldwide display in eight of their museums.

Each figure was first sculpted in clay before being moulded in wax by a creative team in West London. A team of expert artists then accurately recreate colour and skin tones, replicating every freckle, mole and dimple, before the make-up, artists, hairdressers and stylists finish off the look.

To ensure realism, Madame Tussauds worked with the same designers used by Lady Gaga, and featured styles will include: Lady in Lace (The Brit Awards 2010), Telephone (Friday Night with Jonathan Ross, March 2010), Harlequin (Grand Intercontinental Hotel Seoul, South Korea), and Mini Mouse (BBC Radio 1 studios, London), among others.

Lady Gaga replicants will be unveiled on December 9 in London, Amsterdam, Berlin, New York, Hollywood, Las Vegas, Shanghai and Hong Kong.
