The Like a Prayer star wants to help the orphans of Malawi in 2007. Madonna had planned to construct an aid centre in the impoverished area, but has now decided to give more. The international star will now be helping to install wells, after learning that the children are currently forced to travel for miles to find suitable drinking water.
Adrina Michiela, of the Minstry of Women and Child Development in Malawi, explained, "The team was appalled at what they saw and how women and children walk long distances to fetch water. Her team immediately pledged to support any government initiatives to improve access to water points."
