Madonna hopes to become more ecologically friendly. The star has been called "environmentally unaware" for some of her business investments in oil companies. She has also done business with one of the most toxic companies of all time, aluminum producer Alcoa.
However, Madonna now insists that her participation in the Live Earth concert last weekend has forced her to re-evaluate her position on the changing climate.
According to FemaleFirst, Madonna’s spokesperson said, "Madonna’s agreement to sing at the Live Earth event is merely one of the first steps in her commitment to being environmentally responsible. She is educating herself and her family and has begun to make changes around her that reflect her awareness and concern for the future of the planet."
