After speaking together at an MTV Video Music Awards after party on Sunday (September 13), the two stars have decided to collaborate to pay tribute to the late King of Pop.
Jackson performed Michael’s song Scream during the show, while Madonna shared some touching words in his memory.
Madonna told the Britain’s Daily Mirror why she was attending the ceremony, saying, "Now I’ve finally had chance to say farewell to my dear friend. I can now say I have paid my respects to Michael. That’s why I’m here. To say goodbye."
A source who witnessed Madonna and Janet Jackson’s discussion revealed, "It was a meeting of two great musical minds. Madonna was so impressed with Janet’s tribute to Michael that they started talking about how great it would be to honour him by doing something together."
No details have been revealed about their plans.
