The charities are angry that the adoption is breaking the law of the African region, by allowing a foreigner to adopt the boy.
The judge in the case has decided to take some time to reflect on the case before making a decision.
The father of the child, Yohane Banda, still supports the adoption. He explained, "Nothing can make me change my mind because we hear my son has been in school, a school in London. That is what we wish for him and the family."
