Maison Martin Margiela and G-SHOCK unveil new watch

After images leaked last week, and a sneaky video hit the internet on Monday, Parisian luxury house Maison Martin Margiela has unveiled its latest collaboration, this time with Casio’s cult G-SHOCK watch brand.

Set to launch on March 30, with a limited edition of 3,000 pieces worldwide, at 300 points of sale, the tidily named ‘Collaboration Model GA-300.

To continue the numbers game, the project also celebrates G-SHOCK’s 30th birthday (Casio founded the adventure watch brand back in 1983).

Formed in 1988 by the mysterious Belgian designer Martin Margiela (who has since departed the house), Maison Martin Margiela has a long history of producing innovative luxury products, but this is the first time the company has worked on a watch.

The new timepiece features a transparent liquid crystal skeleton display and watch dials which contain stopwatch, world time, and LED illuminator functions. It is also shock and 200M water resistant, for anyone who feels like giving their new baby a tough time. The watch comes with a removable mirrored silver leather cuff, metallic silver casing and a metal bracelet and on the reverse of the watch is Maison Martin Margiela’s classic "0 to 23" engraving.
