Many Possibilities for Best Foreign Film

Sixty-three countries have submitted their work hoping to win the Oscar for best foreign film.

The organizers of the most famous award ceremony for cinema announced yesterday that 63 countries are competing for the Oscar for best foreign film. Among the contenders is the movie Kings with Tom Collins which is an Irish film, as well as the movie Caucasia by Farid Gumbatov from Azerbaïdjan.

Last year the Oscar was given to the German director Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck for his movie, The Lives of Others.

Canada submitted the movie L’âge des ténèbres, by director Denys Arcand, who won an Oscar for best foreign film in 2004.
