Marc Anthony talks about his divorce

Latin singer puts on a brave face after break-up with Jennifer Lopez.

Grammy-winning Latin singer Marc Anthony said he was not surprised when his wife, actress-singer Jennifer Lopez, filed for divorce on July 15, ending their seven-year marriage, reports Us magazine.

During an interview on the ABC television show Nightline, the 42-year-old singer said, "I’ll tell you that it wasn’t something sensationalistic happening. It was a realization on both our parts. So, you know, it wasn’t shocking. These things happen. It was a decision that we made jointly.”

Anthony also took the opportunity to deny rumors that he had been unfaithful to Lopez during their marriage. Previously a source said Anthony had an affair in 2009 with a stewardess he had met on a private plane.

As with most struggling relationships, Anthony seemed relieved about the split and is optimistic about the future.

"This is not a funeral. This is not a burial," he said. "This is just two people who came together and just realized. . . I’m saying that it wasn’t sustainable the way it was, and that’s that."

The stars, both 42, were spotted together recently when they spent time in the Hamptons with their three-year-old twins Max and Emme, sparking rumors of reconciliation. Speaking of the twins’ mother, Anthony admits he will “always love Jennifer.”

Anthony continues promote his new clothing line with Kohl’s, his upcoming tour, and film his reality Latin talent show Q’Viva! The Chosen, co-starring his now estranged wife.
