Today, everyone can officially get their hands on the book “Pierre Gervais: En prolongation”, written by Mathias Brunet.
In it, Gervais, the former CH equipment manager, recounts new anecdotes from his career. This is the sequel to the first volume (Au Coeur du Vestiaire), which came out last year.
It was a great sales success, by the way.
Last year, the book caused quite a stir. Gervais was often told that he had taken secrets out of the locker room and that he had no business doing so.
A number of people, including Marc Bergevin and Dominique Ducharme, had looked bad in the first volume.
And while Gervais and Brunet were on Jean-Charles Lajoie’s TVA Sports show yesterday, the host asked the former Canadiens employee if he used the book as rehabilitation for people who didn’t look good in the first volume.

JiC’s question concerned Marc Bergevin in particular, who didn’t look as good in the first volume as he did in the second. But in Gervais’ eyes, he simply told it like he saw it.
He says he had positive things to say about Marc Bergevin in the first book, but that “people are going to remember what they want to remember” from the book. But in his eyes, even though they (Bergevin and Gervais) sometimes had lunch together and went on fishing trips, you have to tell it like it is.
He’s a cool, fun guy who helped out and made everyone laugh.
What I’m saying is that everything went wrong in the last two years. – Pierre Gervais on Marc Bergevin
To find out more, read the book, now available.
Of course, saying such things on the TVA Sports set won’t help his sympathy rating with those who feel he crossed a line when the first book was published.
Carey Price signed the book’s preface. He must not have hated the first one.
It’s also worth mentioning that the two men said there would be no third book. But since they didn’t want to do the second one, and Gervais had even said no to a first volume in the first place, we wonder if they’ll change their minds one day… like Dodo and the Bye Bye.
In brief
– Joe Thornton with Team Canada.
Field hockey Canada VP, Scott Salmond has done good work in recruiting alumni players transitioning from their playing careers. Thornton, Brent Seabrook and Shane Shane Doan are examples of those who have quickly shifted to international management roles when called to help. https://t.co/BtAMcsmugz
