The Hollywood Reporter announced that Blucas (The Alamo, Buffy the Vampire Slayer) will join Tom Cruise, Cameron Diaz and Maggie Grace in an upcoming film by director James Mangold (Walk the Line, 3:10 to Yuma).
The untitled "Wichita" project is a spy thriller in which a woman (Diaz) meets a man (Cruise) on a blind date. The man is actually a federal agent who goes on a violent trip around the world to protect a powerful battery that holds the key to an infinite power source.
Blucas will play the woman’s ex-boyfriend, a firefighter who is still in love with her.
Filming will begin next month in Boston, and the opening date is set for July 2, 2010.
Marc Blucas has finished shooting Mother and Child, Stay Cool and Stuntmen, though none of the films have official release dates.
