Having given birth to twins Morroccan and Monroe just a couple of weeks ago on her third wedding anniversary, April 30, pop diva Mariah Carey may also be giving birth to a new musical project.
In an interview with Billboard, the singer’s husband Nick Cannon said the R&B singer has kept busy during her pregnancy, recording songs in their home studio in anticipation of her next album.
"She’s planning on having a record out this year," Cannon said of his wife. "She’s been working away, and we have a studio in the crib, and [the pregnancy] has totally inspired her on so many different levels. You’re definitely gonna see some new phenomenal music from Mariah."
Cannon’s new comedy special Mr. Showbiz debuted on Showtime over the weekend, and he’s also preparing a musical album, Mr. Showbiz Sings the Hits, blending hip-hop and comedy and many guest stars.
"I got a record with Flo Rida, Snoop, Ice Cube, Wyclef, Cee Lo," Cannon said. "We got some hilarious songs. It’s kind of bringing the fun back to hip-hop."
