Marie-Antoinette To Be Presented at Cannes

The film Marie-Antoinette, which stars actress Kirsten Dunst, will be presented at the next Cannes Film Festival.

The biographical film from Sofia Coppola (Lost in Translation) was selected to be shown at the 59th Cannes spectacle.  The film is set in 1774, when the 19 year-old woman becomes the queen of France after marrying King Louis XVI.

The Cannes Film Festival will take place from May 17-28.  Tom Hanks’ film Da Vinci Code will open the competition.
